Idaho Chaplains Association Qualifications, Requirements, and Code of Conduct

Commitment to Christ


A candidate for the chaplaincy program must be a Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
 

Commitment to a Christian Lifestyle


A candidate for the chaplaincy program must be a representative of Jesus Christ both in their public and private life. This includes: basic knowledge of the Scriptures, emotional and spiritual maturity, emotional stability, healthy interpersonal relationships, financial responsibility and a stable living situation.
 

Commitment of Time

The amount of time required to complete the chaplaincy program. This includes time spent in the classroom, time required to complete homework assignments, and time spent serving.
 

Commitment to Teamwork and Assigned Duties
 

A candidate for the chaplaincy program must be willing to work with other members who are enrolled in the program and be responsible for agreed upon assignments and tasks.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Idaho Chaplains Association exists to serve those in need. We are a Christian organization therefore we expect our board, employees, volunteers and students to live a life that is consistent with biblical standards in the following:

  1. To love and serve others (Colossians 3:12-15, John 13:34-35, Romans 12:6-8)

  2. To live a life consistent with the scriptures and refrain from following the desires of our sinful nature. (Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, Colossians 3:5-9)

  3. To maintain the highest ethical standards in ministry and personal life. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 3:2-7)

  4. To be examples of Christ in overall life – in speech, faith, love, passion, and fire in the Holy Ghost. (1 Timothy 4:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, Acts 1:8, John 20:21)

  5. To keep oneself from sexual activity outside marriage and other forms of sexual misconduct.

  6. To enjoy God, and each other, building each other up with encouraging speech and supportive actions. 

  7. I agree to abstain from gossip, slander or from a critical attitude but rather step whole heartedly into building up one another.
